Join the quartet as they explore how composers and artists were inspired and influenced by the world and people around them.
All programs can be aligned withTEKS standards and adapted for grade level.
A Musical Voyage
Journey around the world with the Carya String Quartet as they explore the cross-cultural music of composers who incorporated styles from far-off lands. Through the music of Bloch, Glazunov, Beamish, and Puccini, this interactive and educational concert shows how composers synthesized European classical music with the information and expectations they had of other countries’ and cultures’ music.

Women Through History
Travel through time with the Carya String Quartet as they explore the life and works great women composers from the middle ages through today. With musical selections from Hildegard von Bingen, Emilie Mayer, Florence Price, Gwyneth Walker, and Beyonce, audiences will gain an understanding of world history and women’s contributions to music and art.
